How Tinubu plunged Nigeria into total economic mess – Kwankwaso
Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential running mate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration, claiming it has led to a severe economic decline in the country.
Kwankwaso attributed Nigeria’s current economic challenges to Tinubu’s decision to eliminate fuel subsidies immediately following his inauguration. During the presidential inauguration in 2023, which took place at Eagle Square in Abuja, Tinubu announced the end of the fuel subsidy program.
In an interview with Arise Television on Wednesday, Kwankwaso asserted that the subsidy was removed without adequate measures to mitigate the impact on the populace.
“Bola Tinubu decided to remove the subsidy, and the consequences we anticipated have indeed occurred,” Kwankwaso said. “He acted immediately without considering the potential ramifications, leading us to this complete economic mess.”
The former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) emphasized the need for affordable fuel prices for Nigerians.
