Afrobeats Artist Davido Reflects on Impact of Babcock University During Visit

OSUN STATE—Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, expressed gratitude for the significant role Babcock University played in shaping his life and career during a visit to his alma mater.

Speaking to students and faculty, Davido emphasized the pride he feels in having graduated from the institution, especially in an industry where not all aspiring musicians complete their education. “Babcock University shaped my career. I always tell my colleagues that I went to school and graduated. Not everyone who started got to finish,” he stated.

Davido, who holds a degree from the university’s music department, acknowledged that his father set the condition of completing his education to pursue a career in music. The artist also revealed that he met his wife, Chioma Adeleke, while attending Babcock.

Throughout his time in school, Davido released a number of hit songs, further establishing his career in the music industry.
