Nollywood Actor Raises Concerns Over Kissing Scenes in Film
Nollywood actor Jide Awobona has voiced concerns about the implications of kissing scenes in movies, following an uncomfortable incident on set. In a recent interview with Yanga FM, Awobona disclosed that he had to kiss an actress, whose identity he did not reveal, and noted that she had bad breath.
Awobona emphasized his worries regarding potential health risks associated with kissing during filming, particularly when cast members have not undergone medical checks.
When asked whether he has engaged in kissing scenes, Awobona replied in Pidgin English: “Yes, I have done it. But if you have that kind of funny odor, I’ll run away. I cannot kiss you.”
During the discussion, the interviewer inquired if he had acted alongside someone with foul breath. Awobona confirmed the experience, stating, “Yes, I have acted with someone who has mouth odor. I went to wash my mouth afterwards, and the person noticed.”
He added, “I just pray that I do not contract anything because I’m tired.”
Awobona’s comments highlight a growing concern among actors regarding health and hygiene in the film industry.
