Stella Maris Okafor Addresses Allegations of Mismanaging Late Husband’s Estate

Stella Maris Okafor, widow of the late Nollywood actor John Okafor, has refuted claims that she unlawfully sold her husband’s properties for personal gain. These allegations surfaced following recent discussions by the Okafor family about their financial difficulties.

In a video interview with content creator King Mitchy, Stella Maris clarified that the sales were conducted in accordance with a court order and with the approval of Mr. Ibu’s sons, Valentine and Daniel Okafor.

“I have to show you this document. This is a court order. It was not just me; my husband’s two sons and I executed the sale as per the court order. All evidence is here,” she stated.

Additionally, Stella Maris mentioned that she currently operates an online jewelry business, a venture her late husband initially discouraged while she was still active in acting.

“I now have a page online where I sell jewelry. My late husband discouraged me from starting this business while I was still acting,” she explained.

She also announced plans to relocate from her current home, describing it as financially burdensome. She moved there due to security concerns and public scrutiny following her husband’s death.

“I did not intend to come to this place. It’s because of pressure and security, but I am packing out,” she said.

Stella Maris addressed claims from an individual who alleged to be one of Mr. Ibu’s children and expressed dissatisfaction over financial support. She stated that tensions regarding financial matters arose shortly after her husband’s burial, particularly concerning contributions made to her for the care of their children.

“Before they sold the land, we were still in the village, and they were arguing with me over the money that was given to me during the burial. They insisted that I should share the money with them. I told them that this was money given to me for my children. Why should I share it with you?” she explained.
