Nigerian Afrobeat artist Ayra Starr has announced her recovery from a complicated major surgery. She shared this update with fans on Thursday evening via her Instagram Story, addressing her recent absence from social media.

The singer had not been active online for about a week prior to her return on Wednesday. In her message, Starr apologized for the sudden break, explaining that the surgery was more complex than anticipated and that she requires additional time to recuperate.

“Hey Mobstarrs, I’m sorry you’re not seeing as much of me as I would like. I had major surgery a few days ago. I was hoping for a quick recovery, but it was more complicated than they expected,” she wrote.

Starr assured her followers that she would return soon, saying, “I just need a bit of rest, and I’ll be back. Starrgirl is coming so soooon.”
