Veteran Nollywood Actor Pete Edochie Discusses Health Challenges

NOLLYWOOD — Veteran Nigerian actor Pete Edochie has expressed his thoughts on his health and mortality, stating he has asked God to take him when his time comes, rather than be a burden to his family.

Edochie made these remarks during a visit to fellow actor Emmanuel, who is currently facing health issues, in Accra, Ghana, on Wednesday. The visit was part of Edochie’s legacy tour.

In sharing his own health struggles, Edochie revealed that he is experiencing difficulty with mobility. He noted that he often wakes up with parts of his body swollen and struggles with walking.

“I’m not very well myself. Walking is a problem for me now. I still have hope that I will recover,” he said. “Sometimes, I get up and discover that some parts of my body are swollen, and after a while, they go down again. My hand is swollen now.”

Edochie emphasized his desire not to impose on those around him. “I just keep asking God, you are the author of life. Whenever you feel it’s time for me to go, just take me. Don’t let me bother the people who are around me. Just take me.”
