Nollywood Actor Wale Akorede Accuses Olasco Films of Unpaid Debt
Veteran Nollywood comic actor Wale Akorede, commonly known as Okunnu, has publicly criticized Olasco Films for failing to pay him for a movie production.
In a recent interview with media personality Olugbenga Oropo Valentine during the SAWORO program, Okunnu expressed his frustration over the unpaid debt, which he describes as the product of his hard work.
“I produced a movie for Olasco, and I haven’t received anything in return. Not even N5 for pure water,” Okunnu stated. He further expressed uncertainty about whether he would ever be compensated, saying, “I don’t know if I will be paid on judgment day.”
Okunnu detailed his experience with the film “Aare,” which he both directed and starred in. He claimed that despite the simultaneous release of both parts of the film, he did not receive any earnings from its success.
“I would be lying if I said Olasco gave me anything from the money made from my sweat,” he added, indicating that his grievances with Olasco remain unresolved.
