Nigerian Comic Actor Okemesi Dies at 50

Nigerian comic actor Bamidele Tope Saint, widely known as Okemesi, has passed away. He died at a hospital in Nigeria on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at approximately 11:50 a.m.

Reports indicate that Okemesi was in a coma for several hours due to complications related to medication administered at the facility.

Fellow actor Tony Montana Jeff announced the news in a video posted on Instagram, confirming that Okemesi’s body has been moved to the morgue.

“With a heavy heart, I’m announcing to the world that Okemesi is dead. The doctor pronounced him dead at exactly 11:50 a.m. this morning,” Jeff said. He provided further details about the family’s plans and expressed gratitude to supporters.

Okemesi was celebrated for his contributions to the Nigerian film industry, leaving a lasting impact on his audience.

Funeral arrangements are expected to be communicated by the family in the coming days.
