I lost sleep, weight for this presidency job – Tinubu

President Acknowledges Economic Hardships in Nigeria
President Bola Tinubu has recognized that his administration’s economic reforms have imposed significant hardships on Nigerians. He expressed that these challenges have taken a personal toll on him, resulting in sleepless nights and weight loss.
In remarks shortly after being declared the winner of the recent election, Tinubu praised the national chairman of the electoral committee and the entire team involved in the election process, noting their essential contributions and the sacrifices made by many.
“The national chairman of the committee and all members of the electoral process, along with the steadfast support of Nigerians across the country, deserve my utmost respect,” Tinubu stated.
He empathized with citizens enduring difficulties, saying, “You’ve given me encouragement. Sometimes it is difficult and I share the pain with you. I understand the effort required to reform this economy, which has faced numerous challenges. If you have lost sleep, I have, too. If you have lost weight, I believe I have as well.”
Tinubu reiterated his commitment to fulfilling his responsibilities as president. “In 2022, I sought this position with your support, and now I must see it through,” he said.
