Nigerian Artiste Falz Clarifies Stance on Political Support
LAGOS, Nigeria – Folarin Falana, widely known as Falz, clarified during a Tuesday interview on Arise Television’s “Prime Time” that he has not endorsed any political candidate, including Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
Falz emphasized his commitment to urging Nigerians, particularly the youth, to actively participate in the upcoming general elections.
“I want to make a point of correction. I have never openly supported Peter Obi or any politician or party in 2023 or at any time,” he stated. “I have consistently encouraged people to go out and vote.”
He underscored the importance of a free and fair democratic process, expressing concerns about the cyclical nature of Nigerian politics. “It seems we keep reshuffling almost the same individuals, making it challenging to support any Nigerian politician with confidence in 2026,” he added.
Falz’s comments come as Nigeria prepares for elections, and he calls for increased political engagement among the youth.
