‘I will do DNA test before accepting any child’ – Singer Mayorkun

Nigerian singer Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, known professionally as Mayorkun, has announced plans to conduct a DNA test before acknowledging any child as his own.
In a recent episode of the “In My Opinion” podcast, Mayorkun discussed his decision to implement a prenuptial agreement and a DNA test once his girlfriend gives birth. He acknowledged that his girlfriend was unhappy with the idea but expressed his intention to follow through with his plans.
“I told my girlfriend we’d need a prenup and a DNA test when she has a child, just to be sure. She got upset,” Mayorkun said.
He also mentioned contemplating the possibility of conducting the DNA test without her knowledge, saying, “If it is my child, no issues. If not, everybody will hear about it.”
The topic of DNA testing has gained traction in Nigeria, with experts highlighting the rise in paternity fraud cases as a reason for its growing popularity. In addition, several celebrities have encouraged Nigerian men to conduct DNA tests to confirm paternity before assuming parental responsibilities.
