I’ll work with any political party – Iyabo Ojo tells critics after FAAN video

Iyabo Ojo Expresses Willingness to Collaborate with Any Political Party
Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo announced her readiness to collaborate with any political party to contribute to Nigeria’s development. This statement follows the release of a promotional video featuring Ojo, which was shared by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
The video, posted on the social media platform X, shows Ojo praising enhancements at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. In her post, she expressed pride in the changes, stating, “FAAN is changing for the better in so many ways. I’m so proud of my country.”
Ojo’s involvement in the promotional clip sparked varied reactions online, especially given her past criticism of the Tinubu administration and support for Peter Obi during the 2023 general election. Many users recalled these past positions when discussing the recent developments.
In response to the backlash, FAAN Managing Director Olubunmi Kuku clarified that Ojo had neither received a contract nor been appointed as an ambassador for the agency. Amid the criticism, Ojo maintained her stance, emphasizing that her involvement was voluntary and motivated by a desire to promote her country.
“I’m Nigerian. And I’m a voice,” Ojo wrote on her Instagram page. “When I see progress… I shout it from the rooftops… not because I am being paid, not because I am political, but because I feel it and I want good for my country.”
She further explained that FAAN had approached her to help spread the word about the improvements and that she participated without compensation. “If Nigeria must rise, we ALL must build it. Silence helps no one,” Ojo stated, adding that she is open to working with any political party focused on creating a better future for Nigeria.
The promotional video was released shortly after Ojo met with Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, to discuss initiatives for his father’s re-election campaign.
