Nigerian singer and rapper Speed Darlington has publicly expressed his dissatisfaction with his current marital situation, noting that he remains single as he approaches his 60th birthday.
In a recent video broadcast, the performer, known for his hit song “Akpi,” articulated his desire for a more fulfilling life, stating that he believes he should be in a stable marriage with children at this stage in his life.
“I am close to 60 with no wife or child. Is this how I am going to live my life? All I have to show is American papers. I want more than American papers out of life,” he said. He emphasized his longing for family, freedom, and respect.
Several years ago, Speed Darlington made headlines when he publicly advertised for a potential wife, detailing specific qualifications for his ideal partner. According to his criteria, a prospective spouse must be dark-skinned, aged between 18 and 23, at least 5 feet 8 inches tall, weigh under 150 pounds, and be fluent in both English and Igbo.
Despite his earlier efforts to find a partner, he has yet to establish a marital relationship.
