Peter Okoye Changes Birthday Celebration Date, Reflects Break from Twin Brother

Nigerian singer and songwriter Peter Okoye, known as Mr P, has announced a change to the date of his birthday celebration, marking a significant shift in his relationship with his twin brother, Paul Okoye.

In a statement posted on his X account on Monday, Mr P declared that November 18 will no longer be acknowledged as his birthday. “I’m making it official. November 18th is no longer my birthday celebration date. Please note that I will not be accepting any messages or gifts on that day,” he wrote. He further stated that his birthday will now be celebrated on November 30, describing the change as a personal decision and thanking his fans for their understanding.

This announcement comes amid ongoing public disputes between the Okoye brothers and their elder sibling, Jude Okoye, who served as their manager. Tensions escalated following their split as the music duo P-Square, which had been marked by disputes over management, finances, and allegations of betrayal. Although the brothers briefly reunited in 2021, conflicts resurfaced, with Peter accusing Paul and Jude of marginalization and financial misconduct. In response, Paul claimed that Peter had reported them to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The situation reached a critical point in June 2025 when Peter stated he had completely severed ties with his family, specifically referencing his brothers.
