Maiduguri, Borno State — Lt. Gen. Charlie Collins, the British Deputy Chief of the Defence Staff, arrived in Maiduguri on Thursday for discussions with Nigerian military officials aimed at enhancing defense cooperation between the two nations.
The meetings will concentrate on bolstering military collaboration and supporting Nigeria’s ongoing security operations, according to statements from British military authorities. Collins is scheduled to meet with Nigerian Army officers and assess current joint defense initiatives.
This visit underscores the expanding military partnership between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, particularly in the areas of intelligence sharing, counter-terrorism assistance, training, and operational collaboration.
