[unpaid/sample] So, in this silly time between Christmas and New Year when nobody knows what day it is, I have a confession. I was sent all three of the Ipsum Face Oils and unbelievably can’t track one of them down. I usually work at my dining room table, and obviously that had to be cleared for Christmas lunch and other meals and now, I just cannot find the Ipsum Best Skin Face Oil Intense. However, I’ve wanted to post about these oils since well before Christmas and I remember exactly how Intense feels on my skin because I loved it. I know it will show up and I’ll be straight back on it.

The more I see of this brand, the more I like it and these facial oils have sealed the deal. They’re not cheap at £65 (£80 for the Intense) but my goodness, you do feel like you’re putting something exceptional on your skin. I’m a skin oil fan – it suits my skin type very well generally so over the years I’ve used a lot of oils and can say the Ipsum Skin Oils sit very high in my estimation. There’s that instant feeling of ‘yes, this belongs on skin’ because it’s so immediately compatible. You would choose Nourishing for problematic skin for its anti-inflammatory qualities so it’s safe to use on acne or rosacea, for example. There are 19 plant oils in the formula – highlights include Meadowfoam seed, raspberry seed, jojoba, lavender, sandalwood and rose.

Pick Enriching if your skin needs more life to it in terms of vitality. One of the impressive things about these oils (amongst many) is that they fully tailor the ingredients to the desired outcome rather than just tweaking a couple of ingredients. Enriching contains olive fruit, hempseed, rosehip and Kakudu plum. The fragrance is light using ylang ylang (instantly says ‘spa’ to me), neroli and rosewood. On top of that is plant derived CoQ10 to help boost collagen and elastin. You can use this on dry or oily skin thanks to its lipid balancing ability. The Intense Oil is said to be best for travel but personally, I wouldn’t be saving it for that because it’s too lovely to not use as and when you feel like it. My skin felt softer straight away and by morning, that softness was still very much evident but with none of the residue that oils can leave. It was as though my skin had used it all up to look softer and even a bit plumper. Ingredient highlights are Buriti and Marula oils, frankincense, tomato fruit extract, Lilly Pilly (antioxidant and fruit acids to brighten tone, Rosalina, Fragonia and Chamomile. Even at £80, it’s impressive. I’m currently using a £600 serum just to see whether it’s worth the hype (I hate to say it, but it is) but once that bottle is gone, I’ll be straight onto Nourishing or Enriching (assuming I find it… I know it’s somewhere). I’d love to see a more affordable starter bottle or sampler set – it’s a lot to shell out on the unknown but if budget allowed, I would. You can see more information and find the oils HERE.
