I’ve frozen my eggs, not in hurry to get married – Ashmusy

Nigerian Media Personality Ashmusy Shares Perspective on Marriage and Motherhood

Nigerian media personality and content creator Amarachi Amusi, widely known as Ashmusy, has stated that she is not in a rush to marry at the age of 30.

In a recent episode of the Echo Room podcast, Ashmusy discussed her decision to freeze her eggs, a step she believes ensures her dream of motherhood is secure.

She recounted a time when she nearly entered into marriage with a partner who did not meet her ideal expectations. This was influenced by the pressures associated with the “myth of the biological clock.”

“I want to get married, but I am not desperate,” Ashmusy said. “Just in case the right suitor doesn’t come, I am already safeguarded. I am confident about becoming a mother by God’s grace.”

She further noted that many women who rush into marriage often do so due to societal pressures, which can lead to poor decisions. “Honestly, most women who rush into marriage early do so because of the myth of the biological clock… With that rush, you end up getting into the wrong marriage,” she stated. “I almost did. I knew the man wasn’t my ideal husband, but I wanted to get married because he was ready, and I was desperate to give birth before I turned 35.”

Ashmusy emphasized her current sense of security, explaining, “But I don’t have to go through that again because I have frozen my eggs. In the next three to ten years, I can confidently pursue insemination and have my mixed child. I want to have a mixed kid.”
