In a conversation with People about Tupac Shakur, she claimed the late All Eyez on Me rapper suffered from alopecia.

‘I don’t think Tupac ever talked about the alopecia he suffered from,’ she said of the condition she also has.

‘After he was in Northern California with the police officers that beat him up, he started losing his hair. And his alopecia patterns were far more extreme than mine,’ The Red Table Talk host, 52, recalled.

Shakur later sued the Oakland Police Department and settled the case.

Smith, who suffers similar hair loss issues also said that the California Love hitmaker kept his condition a secret because of societal pressures.

‘I don’t think Pac ever talked about his alopecia, but he also looked really good with a bald head. But that was during a time and during an era that you wouldn’t — he just wouldn’t talk about it.’

The Girls Trip star met the rapper – who was murdered in 1996 – in high school at the Baltimore School for the Arts when they were both teenagers.

‘I’m sure if [Shakur] were alive today, he would’ speak out about his condition publicly, she added.

The Collateral actress went public with her own battle with alopecia in 2018.

‘I’m glad that I’ve had the opportunity and we’ll continue to have the opportunity to talk about how alopecia affects me,’ she said.

‘And I’m just hoping that it’ll give people the freedom to talk about how and just not have shame around it and not to have such a stigma. And there’s a lot of shame around alopecia.’

During an interview with Rolling Out, The Nutty Professor star talked about her friendship with Tupac and called him her ‘soulmate.’

‘If there is such a thing as past lives, I definitely think that Pac and I have traveled a few together,’ she said.

However, she clarified that they weren’t romantically involved because they had ‘no chemistry.’

‘It’s that friendship love chemistry,’ she said. ‘It was almost like God made us that way. It was like, look, I’m going to put y’all together, right? Y’all are going to be a dynamic duo.

‘But I’m going to tell you right now, I’m going to make it so y’all are not going to be able to get together ’cause that just wasn’t the purpose.’
