Kidnappers abduct six persons in Kaduna

Suspected kidnappers abducted approximately six individuals early Tuesday morning at Nuru Suraj Estate in the Millennium City area of Kaduna State.

A local resident, Maman Hamid, reported that the attackers accessed the estate through its second gate before carrying out the abduction. She noted that military personnel responded quickly and pursued the assailants, which led to the rescue of some victims; however, the kidnappers managed to escape.

As of the time of this report, the precise number of individuals rescued remains unclear, and the whereabouts of the others are still unknown.

This incident has heightened concerns over the safety of residents in Millennium City, a developing residential area that has witnessed a series of kidnapping events in recent years. Community members have repeatedly voiced worries regarding the threats posed by kidnappers, particularly in residential estates and communities on the outskirts of the Kaduna metropolis.

Notably, this incident follows the October 6 abduction of Ahmed Abubakar Zakka, his wife, and their infant daughter, Fatima, from Alrahus Estate in the same vicinity. They were later rescued from their captors.

On October 12, the Kaduna State police reported the arrest of eight suspected kidnappers along with four alleged informants during operations in and around Millennium City and Maraban Rido. Authorities recovered several AK-47 rifles during these operations.

The state police command has not yet issued a statement regarding the most recent kidnapping incident.
