LaLiga: What Valencia manager Aguirre said about Sadiq Umar after goal in 1-0 win

Valencia’s Aguirre Lauds Sadiq Umar After Injury Return

Valencia manager Javier Aguirre praised forward Sadiq Umar following the Nigerian player’s impressive return from injury in a 1-0 victory over Elche CF on Sunday evening.

Sadiq, who came off the bench in the second half, made an immediate impact by scoring the game’s only goal at the Manuel Martínez Valero stadium, securing all three points for Valencia. He showcased his talent during a well-executed counter-attack, skillfully maneuvering past a defender before calmly placing the ball into the net.

Post-match, Aguirre acknowledged the positive implications of Sadiq’s return for the team but expressed frustration over missed scoring opportunities.

“It’s great news for everybody,” Aguirre said, according to Valencia’s official website. “We also had the chance to make it 2-0, and I don’t know what happened in that move. Elche CF had their chances too. The win feels good.”

The 29-year-old striker has faced fitness challenges since the beginning of the season but has been productive when on the field, contributing two goals in four appearances. He had missed Valencia’s last seven league matches against teams including Barcelona, Sevilla, and Villarreal due to his injury.

Sadiq’s decisive goal against Elche marks a promising step in his recovery. He now aims to sustain his fitness, maintain sharpness, and build on this successful return as he seeks to regain peak performance.
