Lawan, Gbajabiamila Writes Nigerians On Christmas Day

The President of the Nigerian Senate, Ahmed Lawan, has enjoined Christians to take advantage of the year’s 2022 Christmas celebration to spread the messages of love, peace, hope, and tolerance that Jesus Christ preached by personal example.

The lawmaker representing Yobe North Senatorial District in the Senate, made the call in his goodwill message yesterday, Naija News understands.

Lawan felicitated with Christians while also assuring Nigerians that the National Assembly would continue to promote laws that will further propel development and goodwill across the country.

Also, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila his Deputy, Ahmed Wase; and the Minority Caucus of the House, Ndudi Elumelu, have felicitated with Christians and Nigerians at large on Christmas day.

The lawmakers in a statement delivered to newsmen during the weekend charged Nigerians, especially the Christian community to take advantage of the season for sober reflection and re-dedication to the ways and teaching of Jesus Christ.

Gbajabiamila in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Lanre Lasisi, enjoined the Christians and other Nigerians to pray for peaceful and successful general elections in 2023.

Gbajabiamila, in the statement titled, “Christmas: Gbajabiamila rejoices with Christians, calls for national prayers,’’ said as the country was getting ready for the general elections, it was imperative for Nigerians to eschew any form of violence and acts that could undermine the peaceful conduct of the polls.

On his part, Wase felicitates with the believers charging them to be more prayerful and imbibe the promotion of peace. He charged Christians to uphold the tenets of love, sacrifice, and tolerance as symbolised by Jesus Christ.

Through his Chief Press Secretary, Umar Puma, Wase urged Christians to use the special occasion to extend love and kindness to one another. He also urged the Christians to use the occasion to pray to God to end the security and economic challenges bedeviling the country.

Meanwhile, the Minority Leader of the House, Elumelu, has also urged Nigerians to use the occasion to rekindle their trust in God and reinforce their love for one another in the renewed hope of a brighter future for the nation under a purposeful, caring, and humane leadership in the coming year.
