Leave 2027 alone, face insecurity – Sowore tackles Defence Minister, Musa

Presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore of the African Action Congress (AAC) has criticized Defence Minister Christopher Musa following his recent claims about the neutrality of security agencies in the lead-up to the 2027 elections.
Sowore expressed doubt over Musa’s ability to maintain impartiality, suggesting that the minister is aligned with President Bola Tinubu. In a post on the social media platform X, Sowore described Musa as a “loudmouth” who has failed in his responsibilities as a military leader. He urged Musa to focus on addressing security challenges rather than making promises regarding the upcoming elections.
Musa’s remarks came after a meeting with President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, during which he assured journalists that security personnel would conduct themselves professionally to ensure a peaceful voting process.
Accompanied by heads of various security agencies, Musa stated the meeting was aimed at updating the President on the current security landscape as the nation approaches the elections. He emphasized that President Tinubu is committed to ensuring that the 2027 polls are free, fair, and credible, asserting that no intimidation of voters would be tolerated.
