LIVE: Cummins deadpans ‘placid’ Kiwis question

Just an hour out from their contest against New Zealand, Australia has announced its line-up for the forthcoming T20 International series against India.

Matthew Wade has been given the captaincy in the five-match series, which begins in late November after the World Cup.

ODI captain Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Marsh, and Cameron Green will all head home after the World Cup.

Steve Smith and David Warner will stay on as will Glenn Maxwell, Josh Inglis, Marcus Stoinis, and Adam Zampa.

“Matthew has captained the team previously, is a leader in the group and we look forward to him taking the reins for this series,” said selection chief George Bailey.

“Like Mitch Marsh in the South Africa series, this is another great opportunity to further deepen our international leadership experience and depth.”
