LIVE: Dragons enforcer rejects Bennett rendezvous

Roosters coach Trent Robinson has opened up on his reaction to David Fifita’s backflip to stay with the Titans.

The powerhouse State of Origin forward walked back on a deal to join the Roosters on Wednesday, and instead agreed to stick with Gold Coast for a further two years.

Now, Robinson has revealed that he’s simply moving on front the shock change.

“I woke up and saw the text from the night before and thought, ‘Oh well, that’s footy’, and moved on,” Robinson said.

“It was pretty simple. I had a bit of a chuckle to myself on the circus that our game is and went back to work and got on with tomorrow night.”

Robinson knows that while it’s upsetting not to land Fifita, he was never the right fit for their club.

“Yeah, it’s always disappointing but when that happens, you know it wasn’t right,” Robinson said.
