LIVE: Great shocked by ref’s call on star’s ‘head slam’

Zac Lomax was put on report close to the half-time break for a head slam and could face some trouble with the match review committee.

NSW Blues great Greg Alexander was surprised the punishment wasn’t more severe.

“Whether you want to call it back slam or head slam, watch (Andrew) Davey’s head hit the ground,” he said on Fox League.

“We play a tough game, it’s a physical game … sometimes we find ourselves in a situation talking about whether a player should’ve been sin binned or sent off for contact with the head.

“That was a head slam which caused some damage to Davey, I’m surprised he wasn’t in the bin for it.”
