Man allegedly steals from exhibit keeper while in custody over theft

A man identified as Abubakar Isah, a resident of Mubi, was arrested by police following allegations of motorcycle theft. While in custody, Isah reportedly stole a bag belonging to a female police exhibit keeper. The bag contained her mobile phone and approximately N278,000 in cash.

Following these allegations, Isah was arraigned before Chief Magistrate Court No. 2 in Jimeta, Yola. Magistrate Zainab Buba ordered his remand in prison custody.

During the proceedings, police prosecutor Inspector Umar Abdullahi requested an adjournment to allow time for the case file to be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice. The court granted the request and adjourned the case for further proceedings.
