Head-on Collision Involving Trucks Causes Fatalities and Severe Traffic Congestion

A head-on collision occurred between two trucks on a major road, resulting in immediate fatalities. One of the trucks was transporting crates of drinks, while the other carried glasses. The collision happened as the vehicles were reportedly traveling at high speeds in opposite directions.

All drivers, as well as several assistants and individuals conducting business along the road, lost their lives in the accident.

The incident has led to significant traffic congestion in the area, leaving numerous passengers stranded. Those affected expressed their frustrations to DAILY POST, highlighting the poor condition of the road, which has contributed to increased transportation costs and substantial delays, ultimately impacting their livelihoods.

Olaoluwa, a passenger traveling from Lagos to Warri in Delta State, shared that he has been stuck in the gridlock for three days. He criticized the lack of government action regarding the roads, stating, “Instead of the politicians helping the citizens by constructing the road and providing them with the basic amenities, including security, they are busy campaigning.”

Other passengers echoed similar sentiments, urging President Bola Tinubu to prioritize improvements to the road infrastructure to better serve the needs of both drivers and travelers.
