[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Apparently, blue nails is a forthcoming trend for the summer so I’ve been trying out a few from Mavala. I actually like a blue nail but it has to be the right blue – some leave your nails looking like they’ve been biro’d which isn’t what I’m after!

On the wheel from left to right: Trinidad, Blueberry and Santa Monica. Trinidad turns out to by my favourite – it’s a smokey blue, very unusual, while Santa Monica and Blueberry (it’s a bit biro-ish) are brighter and more vibrant.

Whichever your choice, these just make me think of summer, white t-shirts and swimming pools. Even if you’re not convinced, the beauty of Mavala is that the bottles are so small – you can try the trend with no real commitment.

This isn’t quite as sharp as I’d like it to be – I took it on the train! But, it’s Santa Monica – ever since I got those nail pens I am adding a dot to every single manicure because why not? This blue suited my tone because it’s quite a warm shade – my mum didn’t like it though! You can find a selection of Mavala blues HERE. They’re £6.40 each.
