‘May Allah curse him’ – Islamic cleric rains curses on President Tinubu

In a recent Facebook video, Islamic cleric Jimeta delivered a Friday Khutbah in Hausa, expressing strong criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s remarks likening himself to the biblical figure Moses and Nigeria to Egypt. The sermon, which circulated widely on social media, prompted significant public reaction over the weekend.
Jimeta described Tinubu’s comments as a grave insult to Islam and to Allah, stating that any individual who compares themselves to a Prophet should be subject to condemnation. “May Allah curse him,” Jimeta said. “How can Tinubu compare himself to Moses? Moses was a Prophet. Who is Tinubu to make such a comparison? This is an insult to Islam.”
Furthermore, the cleric urged Nigerians to pray against the current government, asserting that the President has failed to alleviate the hardships facing the nation while making blasphemous statements.
The video has sparked intense debate online, with many Nigerians criticizing Jimeta for his condemnation of the President, while others have expressed support for his stance.
