Missing lawyer, Linda Ameh found in Abuja

Missing Lawyer Found in Abuja, Police Confirm
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command announced on Sunday that Linda Ameh, a lawyer and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member who was previously reported missing, has been located in Abuja.
According to a statement from police spokesperson Josephine Adeh, Ameh visited the Maitama Police Station of her own accord after being found. She is currently cooperating with investigators and providing information related to her disappearance.
“Ms. Linda Ameh, the legal practitioner previously reported missing on May 6, 2026, has now been located. She is assisting the police with valuable information to aid the ongoing investigation,” the statement read.
Authorities are actively working to identify and apprehend those responsible for the alleged abduction. However, police have not confirmed reports that a ransom of 20 million naira was demanded for her release.
Ameh, 25, was first reported missing after failing to return home from her workplace at Blades and Butchers Ltd in Maitama on May 6. She completed her duties around 5:40 p.m. and was last seen heading toward Life Camp, after which her phone became unreachable.
Family members attempted to contact her multiple times before receiving messages from suspected kidnappers requesting a ransom.
The case drew significant concern from her relatives, colleagues, and the broader community. Following the initial report, the FCT Police Command launched an investigation to establish her whereabouts and the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
At the time of her disappearance, Ameh was nearing the completion of her mandatory NYSC program and community development service. Investigations are ongoing, and security operatives continue to pursue those connected to her alleged abduction.
