Money not always solution to depression – Timini Egbuson

Timini Egbuson Speaks Out on Money, Depression, and Happiness
Nigerian actor Timini Egbuson has shared his thoughts on the complex relationship between money, depression, and happiness. In response to a viral post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Egbuson emphasized that while some believe financial wealth alleviates depression, money does not guarantee happiness.
The actor’s remarks came after an X user suggested that individuals struggling with depression could overcome their challenges if they had sufficient funds, specifically citing a figure of 20 million naira.
In reply, Egbuson stated, “It’s not always about money sha.” His comments sparked a broader discussion regarding the various causes of depression that extend beyond financial circumstances. Many participants in the conversation acknowledged that issues such as the loss of a loved one and anxiety can contribute to depression, indicating that wealth alone cannot serve as a cure.
Conversely, some individuals maintain that financial struggles are a primary driver of depression. They argued that many people would experience relief if they had the resources to address their monetary challenges.
