Moses Olarewaju Secures APC Nomination for Amuwo Odofin House of Representatives Seat
LAGOS — Moses Olarewaju has been selected as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the House of Representatives seat representing the Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency after a significant win in the party’s primary election held on Saturday.
Olarewaju received 13,130 votes during the contest, decisively outpacing his rivals. In the official results, Hon. Ramota Akinlola-Hassan finished in second place with 3,184 votes, while Hon. Ayodele Adewale garnered 79 votes, and Hon. Ade Adegboyega received just six votes.
The announcement of Olarewaju’s victory was met with celebrations among his supporters and party members throughout the constituency, who characterized the outcome as a strong endorsement of his popularity and connection with local constituents.
In his acceptance speech, Olarewaju expressed gratitude to party leaders, stakeholders, delegates, and various community groups for their overwhelming support during the primary. He emphasized that the win reflected the collective voice of the people of Amuwo Odofin.
“Today, the voices of our people were heard loud and clear. This victory is for the people, for grassroots politics, and for the future of Amuwo Odofin,” Olarewaju stated.
He highlighted that the election result underscored the constituency’s demand for quality representation, unity, and ongoing development. Olarewaju also pledged to honor the trust placed in him by party members and supporters.
“This is more than a victory; it is a movement powered by the people, sustained by unity, and driven by the desire for purposeful leadership,” he said.
The primary election notably attracted a high turnout of delegates and party supporters from across the constituency’s wards.
