UFC Fighter Allan Nascimento Found Dead at 34
Brazilian mixed martial arts fighter Allan Nascimento died in his sleep at the age of 34, reportedly from a heart attack, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) confirmed Monday.
According to a statement posted on the UFC’s website, Nascimento was found unresponsive on the morning of August 3. Efforts by emergency medical personnel to revive him were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved fighter and exemplary flyweight, Allan Nascimento,” the UFC statement read. “Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Allan’s family, friends, teammates, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”
Nascimento, a lifelong resident of Sao Paulo, is survived by his wife and two children. His most recent fight occurred in June, where he lost to Mitch Raposo by split decision.
Fighting out of Chute Boxe in Brazil, Nascimento compiled a UFC record of four wins and two losses, while his overall professional record stands at 22 wins and seven losses.
Chute Boxe released a statement highlighting Nascimento’s character. “We have lost a warrior, friend, dedicated competitor and extraordinary human being,” the statement said. “Allan inspired on and off the mats with his determination, humility, respect, and fighting spirit. Your presence will be missed immeasurably; rest in peace, Allan. Your name, your story, and your legacy will live forever through our star.”
