Nigerian elderly woman berates soap seller who criticized her for having triplets at 54 (video)

A Nigerian elderly woman, Funmi Deni, has berated a soap seller who criticized her for having a set of triplets at 54.

The elderly woman had shared a post of herself and her triplets on social media, and the soap seller left a comment describing her as “selfish” for having kids at such an age.

‘’Having children in 50s is being selfish. No thoughts whatever about those children” she said

The elderly woman took exception to the comment and went on to reply. Putting the soap seller in her place, the elderly woman stated that no one knows what she had been through trying to conceive before she was able to welcome her bundles of joy. She asked the soap seller to be kinder with her words next time.

‘’Madam, how dare you say this statement. You know this statement is so insensitive of you. Do you know what we have been through especially me? I waited 21 years, so if I had them at 54, it means I have been trying since the age of 31. So do you what I have been through? Do you know how many emotional torture I went through? Do you know how many final drains I have had? Do you know how psychologically this has affected me? If you are one of the lucky ones that had your children early, good for you but that doesn’t mean that you should come on my platform and write this comment.

When I saw this comment, I was unable to sleep because I began to think how insensitive you are. I checked your page and I see you are doing soap. Oniso Isonu. Kila fe soap e shay (Useless soap seller. What do we want to do with your soap?) Is it everyone that will benefit from your soap? What do you mean by being so selfish? I am not being selfish. That is my heart’s desire. That is what I really want.” she said
