Nigerian gospel artist, Asu Ekiye announces end of his 28-year marriage

Nigerian gospel singer Asu Ekiye has announced the dissolution of his 28-year marriage to his wife, Kunemofa Asu. The Bayelsa State native, known as the ‘Prince of the Niger Delta,’ shared the news in a post titled “Public Notice” on his Facebook page on Thursday.

In his announcement, Ekiye characterized the marriage as a significant and personal journey characterized by growth, experience, and reflection. He revealed that the marriage had officially ended a year ago, though he did not provide details regarding the reasons for the divorce.

“I wish to announce, with a profound sense of sobriety and quiet resignation, that my marriage to Kunemofa Asu has come to an end,” Ekiye wrote. “While looking ahead to the possibilities of a new season, I have deliberately chosen to make this announcement only now, after allowing time to bring the perspective, clarity, and quiet acceptance that such a deeply personal transition deserves.”
