Nigerian government lacks sense of humanity – Actress Yvonne Jegede

Actress Yvonne Jegede Criticizes Government’s Response to Insecurity
Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has publicly expressed her concerns regarding the Nigerian government’s approach to the country’s escalating security challenges under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
In a recent post on Instagram, Jegede criticized what she perceives as the government’s inadequate response, stating that it reflects a lack of empathy for the affected citizens. She emphasized that the issue of insecurity is compounded by the administration’s seemingly indifferent attitude toward addressing the problem.
“It is not just insecurity that we face; it is the government’s lackadaisical approach to tackling it,” Jegede wrote.
She pointed out that while crime is a global issue, the situation in Nigeria is particularly troubling as it often feels to citizens that there is no reliable system in place to ensure their safety. “Nigerians are not doormats nor people you just prey on. The fact that Nigerians know that no one will ever come looking for them is the issue,” she stated.
Jegede further noted that the violence plaguing the country does not adhere to tribal, religious, or class distinctions, calling for a more humane and effective response from the authorities.
