Nigerian Artists Nominated for 2026 BET Awards
Nigerian Afrobeat artists Wizkid, Burna Boy, Asake, and Tems have received nominations for the 2026 BET Awards, scheduled to take place in Los Angeles on June 28, 2026. The ceremony will be hosted by comedian Druski and broadcast live on BET.
The nominations, announced on Tuesday, highlight the achievements of various Nigerian artists across multiple music categories. Notably, Asake and Wizkid received a joint nomination for Best Group following their collaborative projects and a series of successful releases.
Tems secured three nominations, establishing herself as one of Africa’s most celebrated nominees. She has been nominated for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, the BET Her Award for her song “First,” and the Viewers’ Choice Award for “Raindance,” her collaboration with Dave.
Burna Boy earned recognition in the Best Collaboration category for his feature on Gunna’s hit single, “WGFT.”
The BET Awards are widely regarded as one of the most prestigious international recognition platforms for Black culture.
