Nigerians want to know how you’ll address problems, not assurances – Atiku’s aide to Tinubu

Former Vice President’s Aide Critiques President’s Comments on Economic Hardship

Paul Ibe, a media aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has publicly criticized President Bola Tinubu following his remarks at a rally in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Friday. During the event, Tinubu described himself as a “comfortable man” and acknowledged that he does not understand the economic difficulties faced by many Nigerians.

In a post on social media platform X, Ibe responded to Tinubu’s comments by drawing an analogy between the President and a pilot managing an aircraft in turbulent conditions. He emphasized that Nigerians need information about how the government plans to tackle the country’s economic challenges, rather than reassurances about Tinubu’s personal comfort.

“When a plane hits turbulence, passengers don’t need to hear how comfortable the pilot is. They need to know what he’s doing to get them safely to the ground. Now imagine that President Bola Tinubu is that pilot,” Ibe wrote.

He expressed concern for Nigerians, particularly market women dealing with rising prices, who require tangible measures to alleviate the cost of living and specific timelines for when they might see improvements.

Ibe’s statements underscored the need for leadership to provide clear communication regarding current economic pressures. He also referenced videos of Tinubu at recent political events in Uyo and Port Harcourt, critiquing the President’s comments and movements.

In closing, Ibe warned that without effective action, the Nigerian economy could face further difficulties, suggesting that Tinubu’s leadership approach could lead to more severe challenges ahead.
