Nigerians will hate you if you continue fighting opposition – Primate Ayodele to Tinubu

Religious Leader Cautions President Tinubu on Opposition Tactics

Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has issued a warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu regarding his approach to dealing with opposition parties. Ayodele, through a statement from his media aide Osho Oluwatosin, emphasized the potential risks associated with the current aggressive tactics.

He suggested that such strategies could exacerbate public animosity toward the president. “Fighting the opposition is a risky game,” Ayodele stated, adding that it could lead to increased crises for the ruling party. He asserted that those close to the president may not support him when challenges arise due to their self-interest.

Furthermore, Ayodele urged opposition leaders to brace for intensified confrontations, predicting that the ruling party would employ various strategies, including legal actions, to undermine their efforts. He specifically referenced Abubakar Malami and Nasir El-Rufai, stating they should not underestimate the challenges ahead until after the elections.

The clergyman advised President Tinubu to prepare thoroughly for ongoing opposition battles, warning that the fight may become increasingly difficult. “He must add more feet to his legs if he wants to combat the opposition effectively,” Ayodele stated, foreshadowing chaotic developments within the political landscape in the coming months.
