‘Nothing Must Happy To Her’

Nollywood Actor Claims Plans for Re-arrest of Colleague Angela Okorie
Popular Nollywood filmmaker and actor Stanley Ontop has alleged that there are active plans to re-arrest actress Angela Okorie following her recent release from prison.
Okorie was detained at Suleja Prison, where she was held on charges of defaming fellow actress Mercy Johnson. She was granted bail by the Federal High Court in Abuja last Friday; however, her release was delayed due to late processing of her bail conditions.
In a social media post on Tuesday, Ontop indicated that her release was imminent. He noted that a verification delay contributed to the hold-up but confirmed that the court had signed off on her release.
Despite the court’s directive, Ontop revealed that police officers have been stationed outside Suleja Prison in anticipation of a new petition against Okorie.
He expressed concern over the Nigerian Police’s conduct, emphasizing the need for professionalism in handling such cases. “Angela Okorie will be out in a few minutes,” he wrote. “But we have received information that there’s a fresh petition against her, and police are ready to apprehend her again upon her release.”
He called on the Nigerian Police Force to reconsider their approach to handling citizens, stating, “Make nothing shaa happen to Angela Okorie on her release day.”
