NPFL: Kano Pillars set to appoint Salisu Yusuf as head coach
Kano Pillars Set to Appoint Salisu Yusuf as Technical Adviser
KANO, Nigeria — Salisu Yusuf is poised to be named the technical adviser for Kano Pillars as the club prepares for the upcoming 2026-2027 season.
Yusuf previously managed the team during the 2021-2022 season. His return marks a renewed commitment to the four-time Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions as they aim to bolster their roster in anticipation of the new campaign.
The experienced coach concluded his contract with Coton Sport of Benin Republic by mutual agreement at the end of last season. Under his guidance, Coton Sport finished in second place in the Championnat National du Bénin and earned a spot in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Last season, Kano Pillars narrowly avoided relegation from the NPFL, highlighting the need for strategic improvements ahead of the next season.
