Plateau United Held to 1-1 Draw Against Warri Wolves
JOS, Nigeria — Plateau United’s technical adviser, Gbenga Ogunbote, expressed disappointment following his team’s 1-1 draw against Warri Wolves during their matchday 11 encounter at the New Jos Stadium on Sunday.
Warri Wolves took the lead in the 24th minute through a goal from Emmanuel Aribogha. Plateau United equalized in the 60th minute when Samuel Ayanrinde found the net. Despite their efforts to secure a win, the hosts struggled to break through a solid Warri Wolves defense.
Following the match, Ogunbote noted that his players encountered several challenges during the competitive fixture. “It was an unfortunate result; there was a lot of anxiety from my boys,” he stated to the media. “They were trying hurriedly to score, but unfortunately, we were getting everything wrong. It’s another disappointing home draw for us.”
With this result, Plateau United currently sits in sixth place on the league table, having accumulated 16 points from 11 matches. The team will next face Nasarawa United in Lafia for their upcoming league game.
