Rivers United’s Finidi George Optimistic About Team’s Potential
Port Harcourt, Nigeria — Rivers United’s technical adviser, Finidi George, expressed confidence in the quality of his team, noting improvements compared to the previous season. Despite a disappointing performance in the CAF Champions League preliminary rounds, George believes the squad is starting to showcase its abilities in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
“We have signed players this season who are stronger and more skilled than those from last year,” George said in a statement to the team’s media. “Unfortunately, we could not convert our chances in the CAF Champions League and were eliminated.”
As of this season, Rivers United remains undefeated in the NPFL. Their recent victory over Kun Khalifat FC, where they secured a commanding 5-0 win in Port Harcourt, highlights their growing momentum.
George emphasized the importance of his players maintaining their form, stating, “I am confident in the qualities of the players and hope they continue this way.”
