NSCDC arrests two over alleged unlicensed private security operations in Kwara State

Operatives with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kwara State Command have apprehended two individuals—Abraham Stephen Job and Adebowale Qazeem Adeniyi—on allegations of operating a private security outfit named “Double Razzor” without the necessary license.

Ayoola Michael Shola, the Public Relations Officer for the Kwara State Command, confirmed in a statement that the arrests followed an investigation into the activities of the outfit.

“The alleged offences under investigation include operating a private security outfit without the requisite licence and providing regulated private security services without the required statutory authorization,” Shola stated. He emphasized that these actions contravene the laws and regulations governing private guard companies in Nigeria.

The NSCDC is responsible for the regulation and licensing of private security firms. The agency cautioned that individuals and organizations must adhere to all applicable legal requirements prior to initiating regulated security operations.

Kwara State Commandant CC Abbas Ndah Mohammed reaffirmed the NSCDC’s commitment to enforcing regulatory compliance and addressing unauthorized private security operations within the state. He encouraged event organizers, corporate entities, and the general public to engage only with duly licensed security providers. The Command remains devoted to improving standards in the private security sector to ensure the safety of lives and property, as well as to uphold accountability in security operations.
