NSCDC Arrests Two for Alleged Car Theft in Kano

KANO, Nigeria — The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended two men suspected of stealing a vehicle during a routine patrol along the Eastern Bypass in Kano.

The suspects, identified as 61-year-old Abdullahi Sani and 63-year-old Abdullahi Suleiman, were arrested at Ladanai Junction while allegedly driving a red Toyota Carina II Wagon with the registration number LFA 417 AA, reported stolen three days prior to their arrest. The incident occurred at approximately 2 a.m. as the suspects were leaving the Ladanai area.

NSCDC officials noted that Sani is a resident of Kurna Tudun Bojuwa, while Suleiman hails from Kantudu in the Dala Local Government Area of Kano State.

In a separate operation, NSCDC personnel arrested 45-year-old Suleiman Shehu for allegedly vandalizing an armored cable owned by Triumph Nigeria Limited in Bompai, Nassarawa Local Government Area. Shehu, who is an employee of the company, was detained following the incident involving the cable.

All three suspects are currently in custody at NSCDC headquarters, where they are undergoing preliminary investigations to determine the details of their cases and their potential involvement in the alleged crimes. The command stated that prosecution will follow the completion of the investigations.

Mohammed Hassan Agalama II, the NSCDC Kano State Commandant, praised the operatives for their swift action. “This arrest demonstrates the importance of routine patrols and intelligence-driven operations in preventing and combating criminal activities across the state,” he said.

Agalama assured the public of the command’s commitment to collaborating with other security agencies and community members to enhance safety and security. He encouraged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security services.
