NWFL: Bayelsa Queens set to sack head coach Ogbonda

Bayelsa Queens Poised to Part Ways with Head Coach Whyte Ogbonda
Bayelsa Queens are reportedly preparing to part ways with head coach Whyte Ogbonda, according to sources familiar with the situation.
The team, known as the Prosperity Girls, recently surrendered their title at the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) playoff after a scoreless draw against Rivers Angels in the final match. Bayelsa Queens finished the tournament in second place, amassing eight points over five matches.
Sources indicate that Ogbonda’s dismissal follows a comprehensive evaluation of the team’s performance during the 2025-26 campaign. An official announcement regarding his future is expected from the club later this week.
Ogbonda previously led Bayelsa Queens to their eighth NWFL title two years ago.
