Cleric Warns President Tinubu Against October 1 Independence Day Parade
Primate Babatunde Ayodele has advised President Bola Tinubu to reconsider plans for the October 1 Independence Day parade, citing potential risks associated with the event.
In a video posted on X, Ayodele urged the president to cancel the parade, stating, “If he attempts to go ahead with it, there is danger in it.” His warning comes in anticipation of the nation’s celebration of independence.
The cleric also addressed the upcoming 2027 elections, advising citizens to refrain from accepting offers from politicians in exchange for their support. He emphasized the importance of making informed decisions based on individual conscience, encouraging voters to choose candidates committed to the public’s interest.
“And to Nigerians, don’t collect anything from any politician because of the election. Vote your conscience. Vote for the right people. Vote for those who will truly serve the interest of the people,” Ayodele said. He concluded by calling on Nigerians to remain prayerful and vigilant during this critical time.
