Ohinoyi Of Ebiraland, Dr Ado Ibrahim is dead

Rest in Peace Ohinoyi. I remember when I was a corper in Okene, I was posted to his palace, many years back. I was living like a prince with a flat for myself. He was also the the former Nestle Chairman. He used to be the richest man in Nigeria many years back. A very educated and versed king in knowledge. Then, I will go to his sturdy room to admire the collection of books that ranges from Engineering, Avaition, Business, Architecture, Poems, Literature, History, Science and Technology etc. He loves the Spanish Architecture so much that his Palace in Okene is ardoned with so much of Spanish collections. I learnt so much from him then as a corper bcos of his depth of knowledge. We were very close and I had to stay extra 1 year with him after my passing out from NYSC. I can say as every human being, he is not perfect. He has his flaws and shortcomings. One of his sons then used to have a night club in the island then. The other of his son was a very popular car racer in the US. Recently, his other son, Prince Malik contested for the last presidential election. May God continue to give the Ado Ibrahim family the peace and strength to mourn their great dad. Rip in Peace, the Ohinoyi of Egbira Land! As they used to greet in Egbira, Wa-oo!!!

You are right. His son was the owner of club Towers on Idowu Taylor street in VI those days. Club Towers was my stomping ground in the early 2000’s.

I remembered the King then how he welcomed the popular world evangelist, Reinhard Bonkie, after all the hullabaloo from his subjects in Okene that this crusade will not take place, according to them that Okene was a Muslim domain and they will cause a jihad if he ever allowed such to happen. The great Ohinoyi, being an highly educated and exposed man, defy his people’s threats and welcomed Reinhard Bonkie in his Palace. He allowed the evangelist to pray with him then. The crusade then became the biggest of Reinhard Bonkie evangelism in Nigeria till date. Okene did set record for the massive turnout of Reinhard Bonkie crusade in Nigeria. Kudos to the Ohinoyi of Egbira Land!!!
