Olubadan confirms release of abducted prospective NYSC members
The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Ladoja, announced the safe release of prospective members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) who were abducted earlier this week.
The victims were kidnapped in the early hours of Thursday while traveling from Ibadan to the NYSC camp in Bende, Abia State.
Oba Ladoja confirmed their release on Wednesday evening through his media aide, Adeola Oloko.
In a statement to DAILY POST, Oloko reported that Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma reached out to the Olubadan to communicate the news of the victims’ release.
“The prospective members of NYSC who were abducted have been released,” Oloko stated. He further noted that the governor confirmed the details during a telephone conversation with the Olubadan at 5:00 PM on Wednesday.
“It is true. It is good that you want to double-check,” he added.
