Origin star stuns legends in 'special' Bulldogs victory

Stephen Crichton has shown his class yet again, stunning experts with a brilliant flick pass during the Bulldogs‘ win over the Eels.

With the Eels leading 6-4 18 minutes into the first half, Crichton went down the right side and set up his winger Blake Wilson with an insane flick pass.

The Origin centre’s effort left league great Greg Alexander stunned.

“He delivers a brilliant flick pass to Blake Wilson.

“That is brilliant – it doesn’t get any better and Blake Wilson still had a fair bit to do. What a special try from the Dogs.”

Fellow legend Cooper Cronk was also left in awe as the Bulldogs went up 10-6.

“The ability at speed to flick the pass and set up your outside man, that is a special play from Stephen Crichton and he was absolutely pumped up too when Wilson scored,” he said.

Earlier, tries for both sides came from Blaize Talagi and Crichton himself.

The Eels managed to wrestle back the lead before half-time with Will Penisini scoring to make it 12-10, before extending their lead after the break.

But there was still plenty of drama to unfold, with a late try to Blake Wilson giving the Dogs a massive 22-18 win in front of a jam-packed Accor Stadium.

There was also concern for the Bulldogs with Josh Curran stretchered off in the first half after a heavy collision before the break, before Jacob Preston suffered a suspected broken leg late in the second half.
